The babysitter canceled right before she had to take her final exam. She felt like she was failing at juggling parenting & school. Then THIS happened…
We all know that the end of a school semester can be crazy. And when it gets to exam time, coffee and Rockstar energy drinks basically fuel our existence. Now, add taking care of 2 kids on top of that, and you’re talking about a single mother’s worst nightmare.
That’s exactly what ROTC student Monica Willard was going through when her babysitter canceled right before her final exam in military history last month.
As she struggled to juggle parenthood and school, she already felt like she was getting a big fat “F” in both, and then this had tohappen on top of it.
At a loss for what to do, Monica packed her 4 and 5-year-olds in the car with her and drove to school, livin’ on a prayer. All she could do was hope for the best.
And that’s exactly what she got.
Her professor, Dr. Daniel Krebs, was not only understanding of the predicament she was in, he even offered to babysit during her exam. And her kids were having a ball!
How does she know? Because THIS is the picture one of her classmates captured of the professor hanging out with her two little ones.
Does it really get any more stinkin’ adorable than that?! Talk about capturing a moment.
Her friendshared the photo to Facebook along with a caption that read,“Witnessed one of the most caring gestures of my college career tonight. As a friend of mine was preparing to take our final exam for military history, her babysitter canceled on her. I suggested she just bring them and have them play on their tablet in the hall rather than skipping the exam. After just a few minutes of the kids playing loudly, the professor went to the hall and simply started to play with them to keep them occupied while their mom took the final. Such a kind and caring act committed when the reaction could have been the complete opposite. My heart is warm tonight. Tis the season.”
Dr. Krebs has won the Internet with his gesture, but he’s not one to take credit.
A person like Monica, shes a non-commissioned officer going to school, shes a Mom of two kids. I mean thats the kind of thing thats really impressive, the professortold ABC News. Me handling her kids for 40, 45 minutes, thats not impressive.
Well, sorry Dr. Krebs, but we’re still pretty impressed. We need more educatorslike you who extend their duties outside the classroom.
